Abstract

Plant taxonomy theory asserts that plants classified by their external structure, that is leaf, seed, flower and fruit. Plant leaves are collected throughout the year and carry many discriminable morphological features. Due to the large number of plant species (300,000 species of green plant). Plant classification is a process that organises the plant species based on their phonetic similarity or phylogenetic relationships. However, plant identification is used to determine the similarities or dissimilarities between plant species. In this paper, we summarise, analyse and categorise recent research in leaf detection and in that, our analysis provides researchers with a solid foundation in current robust techniques.
