Abstract
Palliative care, or end-of-life care, is a relatively new discipline in more economically-resourced countries. In less rich countries, end-of-life care is still taking root with government health services. This film highlights the work of Hospice Nepal, a pioneering hospice established by a group of medical and social minded friends. Based in Kathmandu, Hospice Nepal is developing palliative care services to urban and rural communities. Their work is providing a model of practice that is effective and efficient, and which is becoming a template for wider application across Nepal.
