Abstract
This chapter explores how specialist classrooms in technology education facilitate learning and are an essential aspect of the subject’s signature pedagogy. There are a range of factors for the technology educator to consider when facilitating learning in technology classrooms, including the effective management of the curriculum, equipment, resources, students, and risks. Physical learning environments, with specialist equipment are fundamental to how Technology Education is taught and learnt in schools, however digital and virtual learning has much to offer as both an integral and enhancing resource. These specialist learning environments differ around the world, according to the curriculum intentions, but also need to be adaptable as new technologies emerge.
