Abstract
Carol Ryder is a lecturer in fashion at Liverpool John Moores University. Ryder is a trained fashion designer, illustrator and educator and has been working for more than 20 years in and around the fashion industry. Ryder began her career running her own independent fashion label, which sells through its retail outlet on London's Kensington High Street and sells worldwide was exported. Fashion illustrations by Carol Ryder were exported in various formats including advertising, books, magazines, journals and online publications. In their current role as fashion researcher, educator and illustrator exceeds Ryder's expertise the boundaries between fashion practice and educational theory. Research interests include fashion and Textile design education, the evolving role of fashion illustration, ethical practice in fashion and sustainable practices in fashion and textiles. Ryder is currently a doctoral student and is concentrating on their practice-oriented research on issues of diversity and the relationship between fashion illustration and the changeable "fashionable body".
