Abstract
This article aims at exploring how the patriarchy shapes work-life balance for women employees by considering research in the scholarly literatüre. In order to achieve this aim, this study discusses the dimensions that can have an impact of work-life balance of women employees such as gender, culture and religion. Based on the aforementioned discussions, this study creates a conceptual approach that demonstrates the role of patriarchy in shaping worklife balance of women employees in Turkey through considering international research on work-life balance. The findings of this study highlight the theories related to work-life
balance, the role of cultural diversity and the experiences of women employees in the context of Turkey. As a result, this study provides a comprehensive approach to work-life balance and women employees by considering the role of patriarchy.
