Abstract

We present a genome assembly from a specimen of Gibbaranea gibbosa (orbweaving spider; Arthropoda; Arachnida; Araneae; Araneidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 2,816.88 megabases. Most of the assembly (98.61%) is scaffolded into 13 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X1 and X2 sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 14.1 kilobases in length.
