Abstract
This chapter prompts language mentors to reflect on the various influences on their practice and how these, in combination with their own experiences of and beliefs about language teaching, may enable or possibly constrain beginning teacher learning. It will encourage readers to consider different models for mentoring and how these can contribute to developing modern languages subject knowledge for teaching.
