Abstract

Presented to Câmara Municipal de Almada, the deck makes the case for a Med-IREN nature-based intervention at Costa da Caparica, combining cliff stabilisation, sustainable urban drainage and emergency corridors. Two toe solutions are proposed according to available space: a vegetated modular steel and low-carbon concrete wall with a stabilised soil-bag buffer where dwellings stand closest, and a vegetated ditch with reinforced earth embankment where space allows. It sets a €+25M inaction cost against PACS-2025-14 funding at 85%, with three approval conditions and 2026 submission deadlines
